As Senior UI/UX Designer and Design System Administrator, I was responsible for overseeing the quality and consistency of design deliverables across multiple project streams. I directly managed a team of designers, ensuring alignment with project goals and brand guidelines. My role also involved daily collaboration with product managers and development teams to prioritize tasks, streamline handoffs, and address any design-related challenges early in the process.
A key part of my responsibility was maintaining and evolving the Design System to support scalability, cross-brand coherence, and efficient rollout of new features across different versions of the product.
Existing Components and Cross-Brand Usage Analysis:
We conducted a comprehensive audit of the Sketch library to identify redundancies, inconsistencies, and areas for improvement across brands.
Architectural Redefinition in Figma:
A new, optimized component structure was designed, leveraging Figma's advanced features such as variants and properties to maximize efficiency and scalability.
Global Design Team Needs Gathering:
An internal survey was conducted to capture the operational needs, frustrations, and desires of the global design team, ensuring the new system would be genuinely useful and aligned with real workflows.
Component Cleanup and Variant Optimization:
We performed a rigorous cleanup and reorganization to maximize ease of use and cross-brand flexibility, reducing complexity without sacrificing functionality.
Porting and Creation of Branded Libraries:
A white-label master library was developed, along with customized design kits tailored to each Stellantis brand's identity and requirements.
Continuous Iteration and Updates:
The Design System was iteratively evolved through real-world feedback, with new components and refinements added continuously to support the team's evolving needs.
Requirements Analysis and Current State Assessment:
We began by analyzing the existing trip reporting system, identifying critical issues in both the user experience and display performance. Targeted interviews and UX audits were conducted to gain a clear and detailed picture of the current situation.
Technical Feasibility and Budget Assessment:
In parallel, working closely with the development team, we assessed available resources and adapted design proposals to fit budget constraints and technical limitations, ensuring the most effective interventions.
Component Mapping and New Element Identification:
We carried out a thorough mapping of the existing UI components, classifying those that could be reused, those requiring improvements, and new elements that needed to be created to support the updated user flows.
Production of High-Fidelity Wireframes and Interactive Prototypes:
Advanced wireframes and fully interactive prototypes were developed to validate the ideal user journey and ensure alignment with both business and technical objectives.
Designing for Multi-Version Rollout:
We architected the new solutions not only for the final 2.2 release but also for interim versions 2.0 and 2.1, optimizing reuse to reduce development time and costs.
UI Production and Design System Update:
The final components were integrated into the Design System to guarantee consistency, scalability, and future maintainability across products.
Final Fixes and Delivery:
After completing UX optimizations, the project was delivered in a ready-to-dev format, ensuring a seamless transition to the development phase.
Requirements and Infrastructure Constraints Analysis:
We studied the business requirements while simultaneously exploring the architectural limitations of the existing APIs, ensuring that no proposed solutions would be blocked by known technical backlog issues.
Definition and Design of New Components:
Specific UI components were designed for the off-road context, optimized for mobile use during active driving.
High-Fidelity Wireframes and Functional Prototypes:
The new interface was shaped through fully testable prototypes, accurately simulating real-world usage conditions.
Ergonomic Testing with Real Users:
Through selected focus groups, we evaluated the intuitiveness and usability of the Off-Road Pages during actual driving scenarios.
Final UI Implementation and Delivery:
Once ergonomic performance was optimized, the final UI was completed and delivered, ready for development integration.
Requirements Analysis and Smartphone Wallet Integration:
We conducted an in-depth study of the technical requirements needed to enable secure interactions between the app and digital wallets such as Apple Wallet and Google Wallet.
Backend Constraints and Architecture Review:
We analyzed the server-side architectures involved, identified data flow limitations, and studied synchronization strategies to ensure reliable performance.
Wireframing and Prototyping:
Visual flows were created to prioritize maximum security and intuitive user experience, with a strong focus on simplicity and accessibility.
UI Production and Final Delivery:
The final screens were designed with a focus on minimalism, immediacy, and multi-device compatibility, ensuring a seamless user experience across platforms.

I had the pleasure of working closely with Ivan when he served as the lead UX designer for our Trip Reporting product, where I was the Product Manager. Ivan stands out not just for his meticulous attention to detail and inventive problem-solving but for the unique way he integrates these qualities with a deep understanding of the product lifecycle. Ivan came into the project at a critical juncture. With the product close to launch, I realized that the UX needed a complete overhaul to meet our standards. Ivan took on this challenge with remarkable ingenuity, completely transforming the user experience while ensuring that the core functionalities remained intact. His ability to balance creativity with adherence to business requirements was crucial in allowing us to deliver incremental improvements without disrupting our launch timeline. What truly sets Ivan apart is his developer background, which enables him to provide invaluable guidance on the technical implications of UX decisions. He is not just a designer but a true UX strategist, who considers the broader impact of each design choice on the product's roadmap and complexity. Ivan is also unafraid to voice concerns or say "no" when necessary, yet he does so with a level of understanding and collaboration that is rare in any field. Beyond his professional skills, Ivan is an exceptional person. His willingness to go the extra mile, coupled with his kindness and approachability, make him an invaluable team member. Ivan doesn't just elevate the product; he elevates the entire team.
See the full review on LinkedInWorking in a worldwide team is a complex experience that requires empathy and strong organizational skills from everyone involved. You are a group before you are individuals — the needs of the many outweigh those of the few, for the benefit of both the business and the people behind it. Clear and direct communication is essential to optimize workflows, prevent misunderstandings, and avoid creating issues that could impact the entire project.
